Humans are mammals, but they aren’t the biggest of all mammals. The biggest mammal in the world is the blue whale. It’s the biggest animal ever. There was and is no animal bigger than the blue whale on earth. It’s about 140,000 kilos and 30 metres long – longer than your school bus.

The biggest and heaviest land animal is the elephant. An elephant is a mammal too. An average African bush elephant weighs about 6,000 kilos and is about 3.3 metres tall.

The Japanese spider crab lives in the sea. It has got the longest legs of all spiders. Each leg can be about 60 centimetres long. They’re not very heavy. They weigh about 18 kilos on average.
