The Boy and the Cat

Pete is a very hardworking boy. He works on an old farmer’s farm, but he has a problem. The old farmer doesn’t trust his workers. He is grumpy and usually shouts at them. One day, a fairy comes and brings Pete a cat. She says, “This cat will help you,” and then the fairy leaves. The cat is very smart. It is always around the boy and whispers to him words of luck: patience and trust. After a few weeks, Pete starts feeling better. He works harder and harder. He grows the best vegetables on the farm. The old farmer is very pleased with him now. He thanks Pete, and Pete thanks his cat.
