The Broken Computer

The Broken Computer

I had the funniest experience the other day. My computer didn’t work. I pressed every button but it just showed a black screen. After trying and failing for half an hour, I decided to call the tech support. First, they told me to press the power button. I did and nothing changed. Then, they wanted me to press enter. I did that, too, but it still didn’t work. They asked me to click on the mouse, which also failed. The tech support said that maybe my computer was broken. They decided to send someone to my house to take a look at it. I was so sad, thinking that I lost all of my documents and photos on the computer. All of my homework projects were there.

The tech support came in an hour. He pressed some buttons and did everything I did before, it still didn’t work. He said that he had never seen anything like this before. He told me to throw my computer to trash and get a new one. Just as he was leaving, he stopped and asked me “Is the computer plugged in?” I never felt so embarrassed in my life. I checked the cable and saw that it wasn’t plugged. I plugged in and pressed the power button. My computer was working perfectly. The lesson I learned from this experience is that always check the cables before asking for help.
