The Coronavirus Mystery

The Coronavirus Mystery

Every now and then throughout human history, a breakout of a disease causes thousands or millions of people to die. If a disease easily spreads from one person to another, there’s a high probability that the breakout soon becomes an epidemic. Since our world is more connected than ever before, epidemics in a country or region can become pandemics in a short time and affect billions of people.

In the past 100 years or so, mankind has experienced six flu pandemics – in 1918, 1957, 1968, 1977, 2009 and 2020. The last flu pandemic, also known as the coronavirus pandemic, started in Wuhan, China, and spread to more than 120 countries around the world. Since people had easy access to social media, the news of the pandemic caused panic all over the world. That caused some people to spread theories about the coronavirus.

A number of people speculate that this virus was made in a laboratory and spread across Wuhan because of the careless handling of it. As some governments refused to announce the number of people who were affected by the virus, some thought that governments were trying to kill the elderly so that they wouldn’t have to pay for their health insurance. Another theory was that the Chinese government spread the virus to other countries so that it could slow down economic growth in the West, especially in the United States.

As time passes and more research is done on this issue, people will find answers to a lot of the questions they have.
