THE FASTEST LAND ANIMAL

Over short distances, no animal on Earth can run faster than the cheetah. This large, spotted cat can run at more than 100 kilometres (60 miles) per hour. Cheetahs can live in different places, but they especially like open grasslands. Years ago, people started hunting cheetahs for their fur. After a while cheetahs disappeared from India and other places. Today cheetahs are in danger of extinction. Farmers kill cheetahs because they sometimes attack farm animals. Another danger is people are cutting trees in the forests and are building houses to where cheetahs live so there is a small place for the cheetahs and their preys.
