The First Day

Lee is nervous. It’s his first day of school. He is in Grade 3, but he doesn’t have many friends, because he is a new student. Lee is in the playground with the other students. Some students know each other. Mona sees Harry. “Hello Mona!” says Harry. ‘’Oh hello, Harry!’’ Mona replies.
Lee wants to make some friends. He talks to a girl. ‘’Hi, I’m Lee. What’s your name?’’ he asks. ‘’I’m Emma,’’ says the girl. ‘’Nice to meet you’’ says Lee. Lee and Emma know each other now. They are new friends.
Emma introduces another girl. “This is Rebecca” she says. “How do you spell it?” asks Lee. “R-E-B-E-C-C-A” says Rebecca. Lee has new friends now and he is happy to be at school.
