The Four Elements

The word astrology means the study of stars. Astrologers study the influence that stars and planets have on people’s lives. They believe that the position of the sun, stars, moon and planets at the time of your birth influences your personality and your future.

There are 12 zodiac signs divided into 4 groups based on the elements fire, air, water and earth.

Fire can do good, like cooking food to eat and keeping us warm or it can do great harm, like burning a house down. That’s why fire signs must be controlled. Those born under fire astrology signs are very dynamic and like the fire spreading, with adventurous character. They are also very energetic, exciting, determined and creative.

Earth is real, you can see it, hold it, smell it, so earth signs are very “down to earth” and real. The ones born under earth astrology signs do not have their head in the cloud, they are dependable, you know they will always be there and they are stable.

Water can be refreshing, like a cool and calm lake or it can be dark and mysterious like the ocean. Since water is found in everything and everywhere, people with the water sign have a skill for dealing with others. They can see into other people and easily understand the needs of them. This makes them empathetic, caring and helpful but they are over sensitive and can be easily hurt. They are the most emotional of all signs.

Finally, air is the most necessary element, being necessary to fire, earth and water. Air is the element that you cannot touch or see, but it can be mysteriously there when you blow up a balloon. Air is uncertain and unpredictable. This makes air people unpredictable and eccentric. Those born under air signs are also very friendly and intellectual.
