The Game of Football
Hi there! I’m David. Last weekend, my cousin and I went to a football game. We watched our two favourite teams, Manchester United and Chelsea. It was the third week of the season and the day was colder than the week before. It was actually the coldest day of the month. We arrived at the stadium at 11.30 a.m., which was a little earlier than usual. We were excited because I love Manchester United, and my cousin Jason loves Chelsea.
The seats were good, but I wanted to sit closer to the field. Anyway, we sat and enjoyed the game. Well, we enjoyed it until we started arguing. My cousin and I both think our team is the best of all. He always says to me that Chelsea is faster, stronger and smarter than Manchester United. Of course, I never agree. On this day, he was definitely wrong. Manchester United played a lot better than Chelsea. They looked stronger than Chelsea and won the match. It was the most exciting moment of the day for me.
However, I was annoyed with a few things. The first thing I didn’t like was that the food and drinks were more expensive than in other places and tasted worse. I was surprised that a hot dog cost 7 pounds, which was more expensive than the 3 pounds I would pay outside the stadium. Also, the hot dog I ate there was smaller than hot dogs on the streets. So, I was a little upset about my meal, but I planned to get something tastier after the game.
We drove home in Jason’s car, and on the way, I continuously talked about how much better my team was than his team. He got really angry and said he would never go to a match with me again! Anyway, I know that he will calm down soon.
It was a great day. I love going to football matches with my cousin. Even though we argue, I wouldn’t want to watch the game with anyone else.
