THE INVENTOR OF THE TELESCOPE

THE INVENTOR OF THE TELESCOPE

Nowadays we are all surrounded with so many inventions that didn't exist in the past. Inventors wanted something new and worked really hard to invent them and now we can find them everywhere easily. I am a grade 4 student and I am in the Astronomy Club in my school. I am very curious about the world and the things in the sky so I do so much research about them.

Do you know the inventor of the telescope? It is Hans Lipperhey, but Galileo Galilei was the first person to use it to look at the sky. He was from Pisa, Italy. At school he loved math lessons the most. His father wanted him to be a doctor but he didn't. He wasn't very rich so he had to work to earn some money. He had some other inventions such as the compass, thermometer and magnets. He was a very smart inventor. One day, he wanted to make his own telescope , so he worked hard for 24 hours , and in the end, he could make something that could show things ten times bigger than they were . One day, he wanted to test his own telescope , so he looked at the sky with his telescope. He saw that people were wrong about the Moon. He discovered that the Moon was not smooth.
