THE ISLAND OF CRETE

Steve, one of my close friends, is a very successful businessman. Last week, he had a business meeting in Crete, Greece. Steve asked me to accompany him on this trip. First, we flew to Athens because there were no direct flights to Crete. Then we took another flight to Crete. Steve’s friend Alexis met us at the airport. It was kind of him to take us to the hotel. I looked at the scenery on the way to the hotel. The nature was beautiful and well-protected. People’s respect for it was admirable. When we arrived at the hotel the doorman took our luggage. Then we went to our rooms. The flight was tiring so we decided to rest for a few hours. My room had a spectacular view of the sea, but I decided to enjoy it later. It was around 4 pm. in the afternoon when I woke up, and I was starving. I called my friend. We planned to have dinner at a restaurant by the beach. I put on shorts and a t-shirt quickly. We met at the hotel reception.

The place where we had dinner was a small Cretan restaurant. The food was amazing. There was live Greek music too. I had spaghetti with shrimp. It was really delicious. We walked on the beach after dinner. The next day, I went swimming. Steve didn’t come with me. He had a meeting. Unfortunately, we only stayed in Crete for a short time. We could not see all the beautiful places there. I will definitely come back another time to discover this magnificent island more.
