THE KING OF POP

Everybody knows Michael Jackson as the King of Pop. He was a best-selling singer, songwriter and dancer. He was one of nine children. His mother was Katherine Jackson. His father, Joseph Jackson, was a guitarist. In order to earn money to provide for his family, he quit music. Because he couldn’t follow his musical dreams, he pushed his sons to music.

Joseph Jackson believed that his sons had the talent for music. He formed a musical group with his sons and named it “Jackson 5”. At first, the group consisted of Michael’s older brothers. Michael joined them when he was only five years old and he became the lead singer of his family’s famous group when he was just a kid. He impressed people with his remarkable performance at a young age.

Then the group moved to Los Angeles and went on tours for several years. They became widely popular. They even had their own cartoon show. After the group’s success over the years, Michael released his first solo album “Off the Wall” in 1979. It was a well-received album and it made Michael more popular. Following his first album, he made many hit albums and number one singles. He became a world famous singer and people called him the “King of Pop”.

Michael received several awards. He got eight Grammy awards for his “Thriller” album alone. As well as his music, Michael was popular for his personal life. He got severely injured and hospitalized during one of his commercials. He had burns on his face so he had to have plastic surgeries. Michael Jackson had great success in his music life and is loved by millions of people around the world. He died in 2009 while preparing for his next tour.
