The Man Who Quit Money: Daniel Suelo
Daniel Suelo has been living without money for the past 12 years. He lives in the caves of Utah. He eats the plants he finds in nature and searches among waste for food. Sometimes strangers or friends feed him. Here is an interview with Suelo:
1. ................................................................. ?
Well, actually I came up with the idea of living without money when I was a kid. My dad used to take us camping and I was always amazed with how nature functioned without money. Then, I said if nature can, why can’t we?
2. ................................................................. ?
No, I am not taking anyone’s tax. But, I use the public library for my blog and website, to read my emails, and to read books.
3. ................................................................. ?
Well, at first I was really shocked to see people getting angry for the life I chose to live. However, right now I don’t care about their anger.
4. ................................................................. ?
Yes, I want them to think about their lives. At first I just wanted to live my own life, I had no desire to be noticed. But now, I want them to see the possibility of having a life without money.
Nowadays, people don’t know their neighbours. Everybody has their own cars, computers, TVs, lawn mowers, washing machines, etc. What if we realized we could share our possessions, have dinners together, etc? It would help everyone not only financially but also mentally.
