THE MISSING SHOE
Girl Scout Troop was hiking down the trail towards the cabin. They had been hiking for over an hour. All the girls on the trip were experienced campers. Though they had taken the hike many times, they never tired of maneuvering through the rocky terrain. Jennifer climbed over the last big hurdle in the climb when she stopped short and stared at the trail ahead of her. Becky bumped into Jennifer’s back. “What are you doing?” asked Becky. “Looking at this shoe. What is it doing on the trail?” replied Jennifer. “I’ve never seen a shoe in the trail before. Why would someone take their shoe off and leave it here?” “That is awfully strange,” said Mrs. Jones, their Girl Scout leader. “Let’s just leave it here.” The girls continued their hike, but it wasn’t long before they noticed a shirt on the trail. They all agreed that this was weird! As the girls continued walking, they noticed a tent off to the side, but no one was around. Not too far from the tent was another shoe. “Do you think someone needs help?” asked Jennifer. “They do need help. They need help from that big fluffy dog!” laughed Mrs. Jones. A little further down the trail was a white dog with a shirt in its mouth. The dog had been spreading clothes all over the place. The girls chuckled as they finished their hike.
