The Most Honest Person of the City

There was a very wealthy king. He had soldiers under his command. One day, he said “Find the most honest person of the city and I will give him a reward.” The soldiers brought many men but none of them could answer the king’s question. A few months later, they brought a man to the king. He was thin and weak. They said “We found the most honest person of the city.” The king said “Okay, before I give you the reward, I want to ask you just one question,” and he asked his question. “How could you become the most honest person of the city?” The weak man said “That is a very easy question. I always keep my promises. I think promises are precious so I never forget them.” The king said, “Well done, you deserve a bag full of gold”. The weak man gave the correct answer and became one of the most popular people in the king’s land.
