THE MOST POPULAR COLOUR: BLUE

THE MOST POPULAR COLOUR: BLUE

Blue is the colour of the sky, bodies of water and perhaps even a number of your clothes. According to some researchers, it is the most popular colour for both men and women.

The colour blue has positive aspects on the mind and the body. Blue is the colour that symbolises peace. It makes people feel relaxed. It is also associated with intelligence. Therefore it is not an emotional colour. Instead, it is associated with being cold and logical. Research has shown that different shades of blue can improve concentration, productivity and creativity. It might be a good colour choice for schools, study rooms and offices.

There are also some negative aspects of blue. When it comes to food, the colour blue is unappetizing. The colour blue is not often found in nature, so we do not find it an appetizing colour. That’s why food companies avoid using blue in their adverts. Some diets even suggest eating off of blue plates, because it can make you eat less. Too much of the colour blue can also create negative feelings of melancholy or sadness.
In some countries, blue symbolises healing and getting rid of evil. People in countries such as Turkey, Greece, Albania and Egypt use blue eye-shaped amulets to protect against evil. Though it represents trust, peace and calmness in many Western countries, it is the colour of mourning in Mexico and Korea.
