The Nightingale and the Rose

The nightingale and the rose were talking to each other. The rose said, “It is very nice to be a bird. You can sing songs.” Then, the nightingale said, “I think it is nice to be a flower. You can dance with the wind. You grow very fast.” The rose said, “You are right and people love to smell us. People like red roses a lot and sometimes they cry because they don’t have red roses in their garden. I think that’s silly.” The nightingale laughed, “Really? Oh, it’s so terrible but I think it is the mystery of love.” Then she thought, “On my mum’s birthday, I will give her a red rose to show my love.”
