THE PAINTING

My boyfriend, Matt, is a great painter. He and I have lived in Seattle for almost seven years now. It’s a place of awe- inspiring beauty, and 1) ..................... . Matt decided to create a painting of the houses on Bainbridge Island two years ago. He wanted to find a house which could be an archetypal model. He wandered around the island in search of such a house for three weeks and finally he came across one facing the sea. 2) ..................... .

It took him nine months to finish it. He made 20 copies, and all of them were sold. People felt very happy to hang the picture on their walls. Matt was asked to paint The Space Needle 3) ..................... .

What I truly love about the painting is the three-dimensional drawing of it. You can see what an eagle sees when it’s soaring above the house. I don’t get how he managed to paint like that but it’s amazing. 4) ..................... . It feels like you are connected to the house while looking at it. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to hang the original copy on my wall.
