The Science of Weather

Do you know what weather is? I know. Weather is sunshine, rain, snow, wind, and storms. Look out of the window now. What can you see? Is the sun shining? Is there a wind blowing? Is it raining? Are there snowflakes falling down? What you see is the weather. It’s what is happening outside right now. The weather is not the same around the world. In some places it’s sunny now. For example, the sun is shining in California today and people are wearing shorts and T-shirts. It’s rainy in the Amazon because it rains every day in the rainforest. In some countries it’s cold and snowing today. Kids are outside throwing snowballs or making a snowman. Why does it happen? It happens because the Sun, the atmosphere and the seasons change the weather. Do you know what the weather is like tomorrow? Turn the TV on or use the internet. You can learn it easily. We can learn because science explains it. The science of weather is called meteorology. People study and try to guess the weather. These people are called meteorologists. It’s not an easy job because the weather changes a lot and quickly.
