THE WORLD’S TOP 10 FOOTBALL PLAYERS

Bob Coates: Sage Steele, our sports centre anchor will be hereafter the break to tell us about the top ten football players. She will also be telling us some secrets, so stay tuned ladies and gentlemen.

Bob: Welcome back to the second half of the show. Well Sage, how are you today?

Sage: Hi, Bob. I’m very well, thanks. It is great to be on your show. There is nowhere that I can say I would rather be right now. I have a lot of good news and exciting information for our followers.

Bob: Come on Sage, tell us the names of those Top Ten Players first.

Sage: Ok, hold on, let me take a look at the list. Here we go, in reverse order: coming in 10th it’s Arjen Robben; then in 9th place, it’s Robert Lewandowski followed by Andres Iniesta in 8th, Gareth Bale in 7th, and Luis Suarez in 6th place.

Bob: Wow, what a list!

Sage: Then, in 5th place, it’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with Manuel Neuer in 4th place.

Bob: What about the top three?

Sage: The top three players, in reverse order again, of course, are: Neymar in 3rd place, Cristiano Ronaldo in 2nd place, and the number one player is Lionel Messi! He is the top player in the world at the moment, and he has a good reputation and he holds the best goal scorer of all time, too.

Bob: Anything else you want to tell us,

Sage: ?

Sage: Yes, sure, the word out is that Messi told some of his friends that he had better play for Real Madrid, and be in the team with Cristiano. However, many people say that it is not true. If you ask me, I think he’s happy in Barcelona and I don’t think he’d rather be anywhere else.

Bob: Any more secrets, or ideas?

Sage: I have got some more good news for children. Messi is opening a training centre at the end of this month in Barcelona. He said he wanted to establish a training centre to help football players’ dreams come true. So, if you want to try yourself and have Messi watch how you play, you’d better start lining up in front of his training centre now as there will be a lot of people dying to sign up!
