Things to say or not to say at a restaurant
For waiters
Never ask, ‘(1) ……….............................’ It’s really impolite to ask about people’s relationships.
People don’t feel comfortable talking about their private lives with strangers.
Only talk about their relationships if you know them or if they told you about it before.
Some waiters ask customers, ‘(2) ……….............................’ when there is still some food left on their plate.
This is very impolite too. You should ask this only when their plate is empty,
or when they’re looking at you again and again to get your attention.
For customers
‘(3) ……….............................’ isn’t a good question.
When you ask this the waiter doesn’t know what to say because if they tell you the good food on the menu,
it means the other foods aren’t good. Nobody wants to say their foods aren’t good?
When you’re at a restaurant with your 3-year-old, don’t say to your child,‘(4) ……….............................’
Waiters are busy with their job, and your child is busy looking at the beautiful pictures on the menu!
Don’t waste people’s time!
