Things We Dreamt About

Last Saturday, Finn’s parents took him and his little sister, Rachel, to a very nice sushi restaurant. Finn loved to eat sushi and he had wanted to learn how to prepare sushi for a long time. Rachel had never eaten sushi. She did not know how to hold the chopsticks. Finn taught Rachel how to use them. After Rachel had managed to use the chopsticks without dropping her food, she tried all the different kinds of sushi that Finn had ordered. She loved the crab and the prawns the best. After they had eaten, Finn got a huge surprise when the chef called him through to the kitchens and showed him how to make sushi rolls. Finn’s parents had organized the sushi-making lesson for his birthday. He had a fantastic time and now he makes sushi regularly for the whole family.

Joe had never seen such beautiful sights before he visited Monte Carlo last summer. He had saved up for a long time before he booked his trip. Before his trip to Monte Carlo, Joe had never been out of England. When he arrived in Monte Carlo, he spent many days touring the city and the areas around, especially the beaches. He loves swimming and snorkelling and he has got a huge starfish collection. Although the city was not too big, he sometimes got lost and had to ask for directions in French. That was easy because he had studied French for 3 years before he visited France. By the time he left Monte Carlo, he had seen many beautiful places. Before his trip, he had only seen them on television.

The Benson family had never owned a small submarine until they bought their first one in 2014. Before they bought it, they had only normal boats and used ordinary diving equipment, scuba diving tubes, and some cameras to observe sea creatures. They had never owned anything so expensive before they bought the mini-submarine. The family was very excited about their new toy. The children had never been in a submarine before their parents bought it. They had only seen one in documentaries. The children didn’t know why their parents had wanted to buy a mini-submarine. But once they had been down under the ocean exploring,
they knew that their submarine was something really special.
