THINGS WORTH EXPERIENCING

THINGS WORTH EXPERIENCING

Abeo: ‘If you ask me, there’s one thing everyone in my country has wanted to experience as a kid – snow. I’ve never seen snow in my life, and because I’m from a poor family, I’ve never had the chance to travel in winter to countries where I can see snowfalls and snow on the ground. To a lot of people in Europe, North America and South America, this dream may sound ridiculous, but I’ve kept this experience on my bucket list of things I want to see and feel before I’m 30. Now that I’ve found a job and have saved some money, I’m planning to visit London in winter next year. I haven’t discussed this with my parents, but I’m sure they’ve had a similar dream – a dream that they’ve never realized.’

Meryem: ‘I’ve never been an adventurous person, but there are activities that I’ve wanted to do since I was a little child. Because I was born in mountainous areas of Turkey, I’ve always wanted to travel to tropical places like Hawaii or the Maldives and do parachute jumping and paragliding. I’ve had this dream since I was 10 years old. At that time, I watched documentaries about Hawaii and its beauty. Since then, I’ve done a lot of research about other similar places. The beautiful combination of blue and green in those pictures has never faded in my imagination. I haven’t shared this dream with my family because I’m not old enough to have enough money or travel by myself, but I want to keep it alive.’
