TIME CAPSULE: BACK TO THE SCHOOL

TIME CAPSULE: BACK TO THE SCHOOL

When I first heard about the idea, I did not like it a lot. A time capsule in the school garden, and writing messages to the future, putting in some interesting items. I found it a little bit boring. Honestly, that was because the time capsule would be opened in 25 years. Mrs Thornton explained the project to us in detail. First, a nice hole was going to be dug in the garden, and a metal box especially something that would look like a capsule was going to be ordered. Some letters were going to be put in thinking that people in the future would want to know what was popular back in our days, what we liked to eat, what kind of music we listened to and so on.

Secondly, the surprise part was really amazing. We didn’t know that we would open an old-time capsule, too. On Friday morning, we came together in the school garden and we had shovels to dig a hole. Mrs Thornton showed us where to dig and we found the time capsule which had been buried 25 years ago. Our mothers and fathers had put it there. Isn’t that amazing? We opened the box and found letters, music cassettes, erasers, some socks, some marbles, a Frisbee, a pocket knife, a metal toy car, some books and a photo of class 1992. They were quite old. I really enjoyed reading the letters and finding out about what they used to do.

Next, we will start to prepare ours. I think we should put some fancy things in that we use every day like a skateboard, a torch, a calculator, some coins, maybe an iPad, some books, too. I have got some great storybooks. Maybe, they would like to read them in the future. Lastly, we want to put in some personal things like our badges and bracelets as gifts from us. Now, I like the idea.
