With a population of 37 million, Tokyo is the most populous city in the world. There are lots of businesses in Tokyo, and this makes it the heart of Japan’s economy. Tokyo is an expensive city to live in, but it isn’t as expensive as Paris. Delhi, the capital of India, is the second most populous city. It’s one of the busiest cities as well, but it isn’t as expensive as Tokyo.

Russia isn’t the most populous country in the world, but it’s the largest. It covers 11 per cent of the land on our planet. Most Russians live in the western part of Russia because big parts of Russia have no people in them. Most of Russia is also very cold, especially in winter. Oymyakon, the coldest city in the world, is in Russia. The temperatures in this city are below zero seven months of the year. The temperatures can drop to –35°C in winter.

The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway is the longest bridge in the world at the moment. It’s 165 kilometres long and it’s in Shanghai in China. A hundred years ago, the longest bridges were in the Western world, but today most of them are in China.
