Tour of the White House

Tour of the White House

Today we’re going on a tour of the White House.
Our school is taking us there to
see the White House and meet with the President.
The school’s rule is that we
must wear formal clothes. Visiting the White House isn’t that easy.
You have to make a request first. You
have to do it three months before you visit the White House.
We’re lucky our
school did that for us. The tour is free for everybody, so nobody paid for it.
There are things that you aren’t allowed to carry into the White House.
For
example, you can’t carry video cameras or professional cameras with you.
You
can have your mobile phone with you, but you can’t take videos – only pictures.
If it’s raining, you can carry an umbrella with you, but the umbrella can’t have a metal tip.
It’s interesting that you can’t use the bathrooms in the White House.
You need to go out to the White House Visitor Center.
There are no lockers
at the White House to put your stuff inside. If you have something that isn’t allowed,
you have to give it to someone else, or you can’t get in.
