Tourist Guide
My dream summer holiday wasn’t working all summer long. Probably my parents were bored with me asking for something exciting all the time. At the end of the second week of my holiday, my parents asked me to get ‘an exciting job’. I was really late to apply for vacancies, but I tried my chances and I guess I was lucky.
I found a job as a tourist guide on ‘Your City Tour’ buses in London. It was a perfect opportunity for me to live in London, away from my hometown. In London, I stayed in a hostel and shared a room with three other students. We quickly became good friends and tried to have our meals together to spend some time.
During the week, I worked with 5 other students. They gave us training and information about the city and we were ready to work! We worked from 9 o’clock in the morning to 3 o’clock in the afternoon all weekdays. They didn’t pay much, but it was enough to pay the hostel and the meals. At the weekends, we were free, so I spent my time with my friends from the hostel.
I had a great holiday and made many good friends. Moreover, I know lots about London now. We’re planning a school trip to London next month and I’ll be the tourist guide!
