Trees

Trees are amazing living organisms! Trees make the oxygen we breathe. Trees can grow 100 meters tall. In some parts of the world, like Red Wood in North America, some trees are over 1000 years old.
The roots of a tree grow underground. They make the tree stand tall and strong. Leaves and fruit grow on the branches. Some leaves are always green, but some leaves change colour in autumn. Fruits like apples, pears and plums can grow on many trees. They also bloom beautiful flowers in spring.
The trunk of a tree is usually hard and brown.
It’s very important to plant trees and protect the forests.
