TUNGURAHUA VOLCANO ERUPTS AGAIN
The people of the provinces of Sierra Centro and Pastaza in Ecuador saw a lot of white ash fall down on their houses yesterday. More than 5,000 students in the towns of Banos and Agua Santa had to stay at home. They couldn’t go to school because it was too dangerous. The eruption started on Sunday afternoon. There was a lot of white ash in the streets, parks, on the terraces and the roofs of buildings in Banos and Agua Santa. The people working in shops, hotels and restaurants were busy cleaning the ash from the streets, the cars and the houses. The eruption was still going on this morning with lots of explosions and ash showers. This morning at eight o’clock, the sky was cloudy and the volcano was not active any more. The police told tourists to stay away from the dangerous parts of the volcano as nobody knew how the situation would develop.
