Twins reunited
The famous actress Kathryn Greet has an unbelievable story before her talent paved the way to fame . She grew up as an only child in the North of England. ‘I had a happy childhood,’ she says, ‘but I always longed for a brother or sister. I had several pets, but it wasn’t the same. I was adopted at birth, and I sometimes wondered if my genetic parents had any other children. I dreame d that I would meet them one day.’ When she was sixteen, she and her parents moved to Bristol, and with in a week the strangest things s tarted to happen. ‘Strangers kept coming up to me in the s treet and star ted talking about their party last night, or their homework - all sorts of things that I knew nothing about.’ Kathryn started to realise that there was a girl in Bristol who looked very like her. In one of Kathryn’s strange encounters on the s treet, she found out that the girl’s name was Maddy. She as ked for Maddy’s email address and soon got in touch. They arranged to exchange photos by email. Neither of them could believe what they saw when they opened th e photos on their computers. Two girls looked absolutely identical: the same smile , the same styl e . Later that week, the twin sisters met up for t he first time, and since then they have become good friends. ‘We get on incredibly well,’ continues Maddy, ‘ and we have a lot in comm on. But we’ve got completely different personalities. I grew up with two older brothers, and I’m probably more outgoing , courageous and sociable than her, and more energetic too! Kathryn is definitely lazier. She is always chilling out instead of studying. But she’s more creative , independent and much more talented in art .’ Wh at’s the best thing about having an identical twin? ‘It sounds silly but it really helped my self - confidence. I used to think that I was too fat, but Maddy is the same size as me and she looks great. So now I know that my worries about weight are just in m ,y head.
