UNHEALTHY DIET EXPERIMENT
Can you imagine eating nothing but only fast food for a whole month? Henry Baker wanted to see the effects of fast food on his body, so he only ate Mc Donald’s food three times a day for a month.
While he was doing the diet, he made a film of his experiences. Near the end of his diet, Baker felt very tired and became very ill because the fast food had a terrible effect on his body. His doctors told him to stop eating fast food or he could die. Baker’s film, Getting Super Fat, was a huge hit in 2014. That same year, a journalist in London wanted to try the same unhealthy lifestyle, but only for a week. Before starting to her unhealthy diet, Cathy Thompson went to a special clinic to get some advice. The doctors told her that she was perfectly fit and healthy. Cathy went to a fast food restaurant to have lunch and started the experiment. At the beginning, Cathy felt cheerful and positive about everything. However, on her fourth day, she started to feel depressed. On her seventh day, she went back to the clinic to see the doctors. The results were shocking and dramatic. After only a week, she was above her ideal weight, and she was very unhealthy. ‘You are what you eat,’ said Cathy, ‘and I feel awful’. After that unlucky experiment she decided to have a healthy and balanced diet.
