Uniforms
It is said that having a school uniform can:
l reduce the expense of a change of daily clothing.
l reduce visible wealth differences.
l lower discipline issues.
l create a school identity.
When a school chooses their uniform, they should:
l think about currently manufactured items to reduce the cost.
l select multiple items to give a wide choice, preferably in school colours.
l think about darker colours or plaids because they don’t show dirt as easily.
l choose unisex clothes so they can be passed on within families or worn by either males or females.
l be made of strong materials with pockets and patches.
l have versatile styles, for example, long /short sleeves, shorts, skirts, long trousers for individuality.
l be practical, comfortable and modest.
l consider all events in a school calendar – formal/informal events, sports classes and branch lessons.
Also, don’t forget the small items such as bags, belts, ties, aprons, hair accessories and shoes.
