UNUSUAL MUSICAL INTRUMENTS

Most musicians play traditional instruments such as the piano, the violin or the guitar, but some others think those instruments are too common. Here is a list of some of the most unusual music instruments ever created, including some you have probably never heard of before:
The Yaybahar The Yaybahar is a new electric-free, totally acoustic instrument designed by an Istanbul-based musician, Görkem Şen. The vibrations from the strings are transmitted by the coiled springs to the frame drums. These vibrations are turned into sound by the membranes which echo back and forth on the coiled springs. This results in a unique listening experience with a hypnotic surround sound.
The Hydraulophone The hydraulophone is an acoustic musical instrument played by direct physical contact with water (sometimes other fluids) where sound is generated or formed with water. It was invented by Steve Mann, and has been used as a sensory exploration device for individuals with low vision.
The Vegetable Orchestra Being unique worldwide, the Vegetable Orchestra performs on instruments made of fresh vegetables. The utilization of various vegetable instruments creates a musically and aesthetically unique sound universe.
Aeolus Aeolus is the ruler of the four winds in Greek mythology, and also a new giant musical instrument whose design is a mix of both string and wind instruments. It is designed to sing with the wind without any electrical power or amplification.
Picasso Guitar Its name was given because of its likeness in appearance to the cubist works of Pablo Picasso. The instrument is a guitar with four necks, two sound holes, and 42 strings. It has a unique wedge- shaped body. The original Picasso guitar was built in 1984 for the jazz guitarist Pat Metheny. (Adapted from CMuse website)
