Wedding ceremonies are one of the most universal traditions in the world but they are celebrated differently by everyone. Ceremonies differ according to culture, religion or beliefs.

At traditional Filipino wedding receptions, the bride and groom release two doves into the air to represent a long, peaceful, and harmonious life together.

In Germany, newly-weds show their cooperation skills by working together to saw a log in half in front of the guests. By achieving this, bride and groom prove that they will work and face obstacles together in the future.

In Korea, grooms give their new-mother-in-law wild geese or ducks. The animals represent the groom’s loyalty to his bride.

In Scottish tradition, the bride and the groom are covered in ash, feathers, and flour by friends and family. They believe that this frightens away evil spirits and brings good luck.

According to French custom, the bride and groom must eat the leftovers which are all put together in a toilet-like bowl in order to have good luck in their marriage.
