Using Microsoft Word

Jane: Tom, can you help me with this program?

Tom: What program is it?

Jane: It’s Microsoft Word. I don’t know how to use it.

Tom: Oh, I love this program. It’s the best word-processing program.

Jane: Yeah. I want to write my homework on my laptop, and my teacher said this program is great.

Tom: Yes, it is. What do you want to learn?

Jane: Some words in my writing are important, and I want readers to see them.

Tom: Then, you can bold or underline the word. Click on B when you’re on the word to make it bold. Or, you can press the Control and B keys on the keyboard.

Jane: Thanks. How can I underline a word? I think I know. You click on U. But what’s the shortcut to it on the keyboard.

Tom: Press the Control and U keys together.

Jane: Thanks, Tom. Now it looks nice.
