Veterinarians

Veterinarians are doctors for animals. Veterinarians are also called vets. They check animals and give them medicine if the animal is ill. Vets also teach animal owners how to take care of their animal.

Veterinarians work in many different places. For example, they work at animal hospitals, zoos or on farms. Many vets work with small animals like cats, dogs or birds. Some vets work with big animals like horses, donkeys, cows or even elephants.

Veterinarians must go to veterinary school. They study there for five years. They learn how to take care of animals at veterinary school.
