WEATHER IN MY CITY

My name is Ferhad and I am from Dubai. The weather in my city is always very hot. The coldest months here are January and February. In January the coldest day is 24°C. It doesn’t rain very much in Dubai. The rainiest month is February and it rains only for ten or twelve days. Summers are very hot here. The hottest month is July. It is usually around 42-43°C. We don’t go out very much in summer here. We only go to shopping malls because they are colder than outside. We never have thunderstorms or snow in Dubai. I want to see snow one day. They say that in some countries it snows for more than 8 months. I think that is great. Dubai is by the sea. There are many beaches here. Some people swim every day here but I don’t. I don’t usually swim between December and February. I also don’t swim in July because the seawater is very hot in July and I don’t like swimming in hot water.

Hello, my name is Kristine. I live in Helsinki, Finland. Helsinki is the capital city of Finland. Many people like visiting Helsinki but they usually say that it is a very cold city. The hottest month here is July. The temperature is usually around 17°C. We never wear just shorts and t-shirts in summer like people in other countries. The coldest month here is February. In February it is usually around -6°C but sometimes it is colder. Sometimes the winter is so cold that the sea freezes. We usually wear thick thermal clothes to stay warm in winter months. It snows a lot in winter and the snow stays on the ground for many days. It rains a lot in Helsinki. It is usually rainy half of the year. It usually rains 16-17 days every month. My mother hates rainy weather and she feels bad on rainy days. I like the rain. I think it is nice to sit by the window and watch the rain.
