In some parts of the world eating dog is normal, in others they enjoy eating poisonous fish. Have you ever thought about what people in other parts of the world like eating? South East Asia
The Philippines, Thailand and Cambodia have cuisines that include a few things on their menus not for the faint-hearted. A special species of tarantula is a regional delicacy in Cambodia. The size of a spider is as large as an adult human’s palm. Also, people consider spider eggs as a good appetizer.
Cold and Dark Islands
Not only our Iceland and Greenland places which are home to the darkest day and cold weather but they also offer a meal which can test your stomach strength - Hákarl: a fermented shark. The local people prepare the meal by keeping the shark meat under the sand and when it is rotten, they put it under sunlight to dry. If you can resist the awful smell of the meal, you can have a bite. It also stands for the bravery of a Viking when a man eats a piece of rotten shark.
Scotland
Even though we may only know Scottish people for their checkered skirts, Scotland is also famous for its own speciality: Haggis. It’s a mixture of a sheep’s heart, liver and lungs.
