What Future Will Bring
Andy: ‘I’m a teenager, but I’m really worried about my future. I don’t know if my worry is rational, but my friends tell me I worry too much. On the other hand, I can see what happens when young people don’t have plans for their future. If I have plans by the end of high school, I will be able to choose my major with open eyes. Then, as soon as I enter university, I will have clear goals and will know where I will go after graduating. I won’t know a lot about the direction of my career until I start working in a specific area. Then, I will know where I want to take my life with it. I think it is OK for me to think of these at the age of 17.’
Tana: ‘I have my own YouTube channel. I always thought that this was going to be my full-time job, but it looks like people’s tastes change. My videos don’t get as many views as they used to, and I’m worried that I will eventually have to start a new channel or find another job. I am planning to go to university because I know having a degree will help me a lot, especially in the area that I am interested in – law. With a degree in law, if my YouTube channel dies, I will start a job in legal consulting and also launch a YouTube channel about legal cases. I think I have figured out what the future will bring for me if I take the right steps. I won’t know much further until I start college.’
