What is the Reason?
Problems are helpful to invent something new. If there is no problem, nobody tries to think about an invention. The most important thing is to be able to see the problems around you. Look around your room. What problems do you see? It may be your untidy desk. Think. How can you solve this problem? You may think of an invention to make your desk tidy all the time.
Problems:
1. Ray Harroun was an engineer and a car racer. Car racers used to get help from a person to tell them where the other cars on the race were because there were no mirrors for them to see what was behind the car. So crazy! Ray thought about this problem.
2. People used to use buttons on their clothes or some house items. It was sometimes difficult for them to use buttons. They needed a faster way to keep clothes closed.
Solutions:
a) In 1911, he invented the rear-view mirror for the cars. Now we can’t think of a car without a rear-view mirror!
b) The modern zipper was invented by Gideon Sundback in 1913, but the name ‘zipper’ was developed by the BFGoodrich
company. Many thanks to them!
