When I was Robbed

I was always very curious about the news of robbery. I always read them on the internet and on the newspapers. And I always used to ask these questions to myself: “How can people be so stupid? What was the security doing at the time of the robbery?” etc. I realized that I had made a huge mistake when I was robbed for the first time in my life. In fact it was a pickpocket

It was about fifteen years ago while I was travelling in Russia. I was walking along the streets and my hotel was not in a hectic part of the city. There weren’t any banks close to my hotel or there weren’t any ATMs either. Therefore, I had to carry all my cash with me all the time. I found a solution for this problem and I always kept all my money in a money belt round my waist so that nobody could find or see the money there.

One day, I wanted to visit another city in Russia and I spent the whole night on the bus to go there. It was a midnight bus and it was very crowded but I didn’t make it a big issue because all my money was safe in my money belt and I was wearing a thick pullover over the belt too. I had a nice trip and in the morning I looked for a hotel for me to spend the night. Finally, I found a nice one and it was time to pay for the hotel. I was shocked when I tried to take some money from my money belt. It was gone! A thousand US dollars was gone! I didn’t know what to do. However, I was lucky that I kept my credit card in another part of the money belt. With the help of the credit card I bought my ticket to go back home. I will never forget that day.
