World’s Genius of Art: Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso was one of the greatest artists of his time. The world of art was changed by his ideas. During his life, he gradually became famous and very rich. His paintings are some of the most expensive in the world. In New York, one of his paintings sold at auction for 106.5 million dollars.
He was born in Spain in 1881. The first word he said was ‘pencil’ and he started to draw at a very young age. His father first taught him how to draw. Pablo went to art college when he was only 13. Three years later, he stopped going to classes because he wasn’t interested in them. Finally, when he was 19, he moved to Paris- the capital of the art world. He got married two times and had four children.
Picasso’s painting style often changed. For instance, after his best friend died, he only painted in blue because of his sadness. Then, he started to use a lot of pinks and oranges. Later, he began to paint using shapes and helped to create the style, ‘Cubism.’ He produced over 50,000 works of art during his life and he painted until the day he died at the age of 91.
