World Wildlife Fund (WWF)

For 50 years, World Wildlife Fund has been protecting the future of nature. It is the world’s biggest conservation organization. Conservation means protecting natural things such as animals, plants, forests etc. WWF works in 100 countries. More than one million members in the United States and five million members from all around the world support it. It uses science and hard work to solve both local and global conservation issues. It makes sure that action is taken at every level.

Forests, oceans, fresh water, wildlife, food... These things are not just “nice to have”... they are “needed to live.” They are the things that make it possible for us to live. Without them, every living thing would die. Therefore, they must keep existing. We must stop damaging them and start doing something to repair the damage we have caused so far. It’s a big job. And no person or organization can do it alone. But together we can!

In 2016, WWF changed its strategy to be stronger and more effective in tackling the challenges. Marco Lambertini, Director General, WWF International, said the organization is now focusing on six global goals: wildlife, forest, ocean, fresh water, food and climate. He said, over 6000 staff who are experts in their fields will be working for a better future. WWF is also opening itself to partnerships with businesses, factories, governments, communities, individuals and markets, because without them, conservation is almost impossible. Together, we can conserve nature and reduce the greatest threats to the life on Earth.
