A confusing manager
My name is Brian and I work for an Internet service provider. We provide half of the Internet connection for our city, so small mistakes in our work can cause disconnections all over the city.
Last year we had a manager who always used complex sentences at meetings and when he gave instructions,
so everybody was always confused.
One day we had to set up a new server for a new neighbourhood with 3,000 potential customers.
In a long sentence, he asked me to go to his office and bring Jane, another co-worker, with me.
Then he followed by explaining that the project would be difficult with the problems that the software had.
He said that it was important because of the number of customers.
He said that he was worried that customers could have a bad first impression of the company.
By the end of his sentence, I was just nodding my head and not listening.
In half a minute I forgot the first part of his sentence, and I was shy to ask.
I think you can guess how I went to his office.
