READY, SET, BREAKFAST!
“Eat your breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day!” Why are parents always saying that?
Well, imagine you’re a car. After a long night of sleeping, your fuel tank is empty.
Breakfast is the fuel for your body. So, what should you eat?
Any breakfast is better than no breakfast, but you shouldn’t have doughnuts or cakes all the time.
They’re high in calories, sugar, and fat. They also don’t contain many vitamins or minerals.
You need to eat different kinds of foods like:
• Fruit (strawberries, apples, pears)
• Vegetables (peppers, cucumbers, spinach)
• Grains (bread, oatmeal, cereal)
• Protein (meat, eggs, nuts, and seeds)
• Dairy products (milk, cheese, and yoghurt)
You shouldn’t skip breakfast. You need to eat three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Also, you can have some healthy snacks like nuts, fresh fruit, ayran or fresh juice and some cheese toast.
Kids who don’t eat breakfast get more tired at school and they learn less in the lesson.
They can also put on weight. Kids who eat breakfast do better in school, and they are more active in P.E. lesson. So tomorrow morning, don’t leave the house with an empty stomach, eat a healthy breakfast!
