Why are kids so addicted to YouTubers?

For many of the youth of today, YouTube has taken over regular TV entertainment. YouTubers have become stars. Parents cannot always understand why these YouTube stars become so popular among teens because most parents do not have the inclination to hang out on YouTube and watch whatever comes around. In fact, the way TV used to shape trends and direct pop culture now is a YouTuber’s job. It is much easier for YouTubers to broadcast a video as they only need an Internet connection and a webcam, which is an advantage over TV. This makes new videos pop up in the millions, from people all over the world. It is certainly smart for parents to be aware of their kids’ favourite YouTuber since they have great effect on them.

While some viral video stars became famous accidentally, others follow a plan and gain success through work. Good YouTubers have already comprehended what they have to do to be good. They are careful about video creation, editing and understanding the needs of viewers. Also, they use other social media mediums, such as Instagram and Snapchat. They are really fast to upload photos and videos. In other words, they are pretty aware that kids are always in the moment so they frequently post about where they are at the time or what they are doing at the moment, which is impossible for a TV presenter. It is likely that these YouTubers have become their voice. There’s an intimacy that some YouTube hosts develop with their followers that isn’t possible on traditional media such as TV.

It impossible to prevent teens from watching YouTubers, but if parents want to help their kids, they need to help them find positive role models who use this platform for good. Parents should try to watch videos together whenever they have time and understand why their kids like the videos by asking questions and discussing the subjects.
